Set custom default FROM address for new messages

This option is essential, rather than always using the drop-down menu when you want to send an e-mail. In addition, the signature column in the Identities window does not work.

Hi @HipsR, thanks for the suggestion!

    Regarding the default address:

The From field in the compose editor currently defaults to the user/primary email address[1] for your account, or the Default Address for that label[2] if one exists.

If you are not seeing this behavior, please reach out to support@swiftmail.io, preferably via the in-app Help > Contact Support… menu item so that any relevant logs might be included.

That said, I believe a user-customizable setting for the non-label default (e.g. when drafting a new message while the inbox is selected as the current view in the sidebar) would be a nice addition. (Note: I’ve updated the title to reflect this, so please do let me know if I’ve misunderstood or misinterpreted the intent of your suggestion :)

[1] The address listed under the User Management tab in Fastmail’s Users & Sharing settings
[2] Set via Advanced Settings when right clicking on a label in Fastmail’s sidebar

    Regarding identity signatures:

This window is currently configured as a read-only view for quickly inspecting the signed-in user’s known aliases and identities, along with their signatures (if any) as set in the Fastmail web interface. (Note: I’ll split the second part of your post into a separate thread, since it relates to a potential enhancement to the behavior of the signature column in the Identities window.)
